You’re getting married?
To Whom?
We know some of you might not be as in the know as others about our relationship, after all, we’re a gay couple, both of whom are from Catholic families, so we have at times struggled to reach out and share that news about our lives, even after all these years. So we figured a super quick biography of each of us might help out.
Cameron LaFortune
Thomas Gioio
Hi, I’m Tom, or as some of my friends might call me, ‘Luka’
Cameron and I met in college back in 2012 and have been dating since 2013. We first moved in together in 2017, and have lived together ever since. I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in ‘94, but grew up in Eldersburg, Maryland since ‘99. I went to a catholic grade school and a catholic high school before attending UMBC for 3 semesters.
I’m a freelance artist, specializing in anthropomorphic art, and work mainly on commission, I also have a number of health conditions that make it difficult for me to pursue more traditional work. I’ve worked as an artist for years and have a small group of clients, but between health and economic troubles, I have been mainly dependent on Cameron for a while, I figure I should be transparent about this, though we do work as a team, and my income has been helpful when the government isn’t being so functional. Nothing is more important to me than Cameron’s happiness.
In terms of my family, I have my parents, and my brother and his family, as well as a big Italian extended family, who will more than likely comprise the majority of the attendees of the wedding.
I am admittedly quite an anxious and reserved person, so writing this bio seemed like a good way to give people a sense of who I am if I do a poor job of that meeting you in person.
A fox and an otter?
idk maybe we’ll add this
